Synopsis:

My overview:
I haven't read yet the whole book,but my opinion about it is not a bad one.I think i've seen a little "old me" in the main character.I also think that the title,"White chalk" reflets the adolescence mistakes which in the end can be removed easily with a sponge.If you ask me i'll say that those mistakes means a lot of things that teenagers want to do and the lots of personalities which they want to copy.Everyone but not themselves.
Chelle is doing the same thing we all wanted to someday.Is trying too hard to become anyone else.And is doing this just because she wants to be loved by Troy,that bad boy who's not even close to Chelle's behaviour.She's doing crazy things like sleeping with her teacher just to forget about how much 'no love' is between she and the one she loves.
I love this book even if I haven't read it all because I think Chelle is vanishing too fast in the dangerous and dusky carousel of the adolescence which is pretending just to show us the reality and solutions to grow up healthy,and the only one who can save her is not the bad boy she thinks he would,is herself.

I wanted to scream, tell him to get out. I hadn’t seen him in almost a week, let alone
talked to him. He had no business eating the food Ma worked so hard to buy, or sleeping
in her bed. The idea of him behaving like a real husband or father was such a fucking
joke.
▲Chelle ,that Chelle who's trying to change for a boy causes trouble between her best friend and she.She's just pushing away from her those that would be helpful.
“Come on, I’m your best friend. If you can’t divulge all your secrets to me in the girl’s
bathroom, who can you tell?” She never did like getting told no, and almost always got
her way—with friends, her parents—whatever it was.
“Nothing to tell. Will you just drop it?”
“All right, whatever. So did you hear about Kiley Flynn? Apparently her older sister got
pregnant and had an abortion. She like freaked out afterwards and ran away and no one’s
heard from her in weeks.” Morgan trilled on, excitement over the juicy gossip spurring on
her speed-talking.
“I really don’t give a shit about Kiley Flynn or her dumbass sister.”
She stopped mid-thought. “Sebastian’s right. You are a bitch.”
